Shop manager
Description of role:
The Shop Manager will oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficient management, high customer service standards, and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include:
Managing store operations and ensuring smooth day-to-day running
Leading and motivating a sales team to maximize productivity and sales
Providing excellent customer service and assisting customers with purchasing decisions
Managing inventory, ordering stock, and liaising with suppliers
Handling regulatory paperwork and ensuring compliance with firearm sales laws
Maintaining up-to-date price lists and coordinating with the marketing team on promotions
Managing store layout and displays to enhance the shopping experience
Hiring, training, and supervising store employees
Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally
Processing sales transactions and managing cash flow

Required qualifications:
Minimum of four years’ experience leading a team in a fast-paced retail environment
Strong time-management, delegation, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and a clear telephone manner
Ability to motivate and drive a team effectively
Competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Strong attention to detail for documentation and regulatory compliance
Knowledge or an interest in the sporting firearms industry is advantageous
Successful applicants must complete a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check
Benefits:
Salary: £29,000 - £32,500 per year
