Public Affairs Manager (Scotland)
Description of role:
The Public Affairs Manager will support the Director of Scotland and the Scotland team to educate and inform policymakers, politicians, and stakeholders about shooting sports. The role involves managing political engagement activities, developing strategic relationships with stakeholders, and promoting BASC’s initiatives in Scotland.
Place of work: Flexible location with travel required as necessary.
Required qualifications:
Degree educated (preferable).
Demonstrable experience in political affairs and public policy engagement.
Experience in project management, adhering to budgets and timelines.
Knowledge of legislative processes related to shooting and conservation.
Proficiency in AI tools for communication, data analysis, and media monitoring.
Knowledge and experience in countryside management, gamekeeping, and biodiversity conservation.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to build partnerships with political figures and stakeholders.
Flexibility to work weekends and out-of-hours as required.
Benefits:
Salary: Circa £40,000
Flexible working hours with core hours between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
