We are one of the UK’s leading gun shops, shooting schools and country clothing retailers. As part of a major recent redevelopment, we now also have a modern, 100+ capacity venue and café. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual as our Marketing Manager. You will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans to attract new customers and retain existing ones. This role requires a combination of creativity and skill to drive brand awareness, generate leads, and contribute to overall business growth.
Key responsibilities:
• Developing and implementing marketing strategies in collaboration with all teams/departments, to align marketing activities with business objectives
• Managing all marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, social media, email marketing, and traditional advertising
• Managing the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources
• Overseeing brand management and ensuring consistency across all marketing channels
• Working with an external web developer to make continual improvements to the website, implementing booking systems, creating content and keeping elements of the website up to date (Wordpress)
• Working with the Stock Controller/Online Shop Manager to make continual improvements to the online shopping experience and performance of the e-commerce website
• Copywriting for magazine articles and advertorials; sending out press releases
• Creating graphics and artwork (Affinity Suite and Canva)
• Creating and scheduling social media content (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
• Organising newsletters; uploading and managing contacts and growing mailing database (MailChimp)
• Keeping the Membership Ts&Cs and partner offers up to date
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with external agencies, partners, and stakeholders
• Researching suppliers and contractors; negotiating prices and developing these relationships
• Covering for the Events Manager when required e.g. annual leave – sending out event proposals to corporate clients, hosting events
• Assisting with the organisation/logistics of other company events such as competition days and Open Days
• Keeping up to date with industry trends, competitors, technologies and best practices
Skills / Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of digital marketing, SEO, content marketing, and social media strategies.
• A sound knowledge of marketing tools and software (e.g., analytics, keyword research, social media management platforms).
• Excellent attention to detail and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
• Organised and efficient, with good time management skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Some experience of the shooting industry is helpful, but not essential.
You will need access to your own transport as we are based in a rural location.
