Interested in joining the GTA?

If your business is in, or related to,  the Sporting and Recreational Gun Trade you are most welcome to apply for membership of the Association.

There are four categories of membership:

Full Membership

Fully paid up full members enjoy all the services which the GTA offers including the use of the Association’s logo on their stationery, website and other published material. All full members are entitled to stand for the GTA Council. They are also entitled to attend and speak at all general meetings of members of the Association where they have one vote per full member which may be given either personally or by proxy. On retirement from the Association, full members may be elected as honorary members. On a liquidation of the Association, a full member may be called upon to contribute up to £2.10 to the assets of the Association (if required).

CRITERIA

  • The running of a business involved in any aspect of the legitimate, UK, sporting, recreational and professional gun trade.

  • To have such a business for at least a year.

  • The provision of two sponsors (current, fully paid-up “Full”, members of the GTA) who have personal knowledge of the applicant, and their business, and are prepared to vouch for them in writing

  • Full completion of the Application form and provision of sufficient additional information about the business, and premises, to allow the GTA council to make a decision based on the facts supplied.

  • Agreement to abide by the GTA Code of Practice, (through the signing of the Application form).

  • The provision of a copy of a valid RFD certificate (if applicable), at the time of application.

  • The provision of proof of Public & Product Liability insurance cover.

  • The payment of subscriptions, and any other monies, within the term laid down.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Fully paid up Full Members can enjoy all the services which the GTA offers including the use of the Association’s logo on their stationery, website and other published material. All Full Members are entitled to stand for Council. They are also entitled to attend a General Meeting where they have one vote per Member. This vote may be give either personally or by post. Full Members may be elected as Honorary members.

Probationary Membership

Fully paid up probationary members enjoy all the services which the GTA offers, except for the use of the Association’s logo. Probationary members are entitled to attend all general meetings of members of the Association but they do not have the right to speak or vote at such meetings. Probationary members may not be elected as honorary members, nor may they be counted in a quorum at a general meeting of members of the Association, or demand a poll, or be entitled to require a meeting to be held. Probationary members are not eligible to be elected as members of the GTA Council or be elected as honorary members

CRITERIA

  • The running of, or intention to run, a business involved in any aspect of the legitimate, UK, sporting, recreational and professional gun trade.

  • To have run such a business for less than one year.

  • Full completion of the application form and provision of sufficient additional information about the business and premises to allow the council to make a decision on the facts supplied.

  • Agreement to abide by the GTA code of Practice by signing the Application form.

  • Agreement to provide by the end of the first year of joining, two sponsors (currently fully paid-up “Full” Members of the GTA), who have personal knowledge of the applicant, and their business, and are prepared to vouch for them in writing.

  • Agreement to pay subscription and any other monies due, at the current rate. Subscriptions to be paid by Direct Debit for a period of two years

  • Agreement that they are not permitted to use either the GTA Logo on their Premises, letterheads or other published materials until such time as they become “Full Members”

  • The provision of proof of Public & Product Liability insurance cover.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Fully paid up probationary members are entitled to Full Member services other than the use of the Association’s logo during their probationary period.

They are entitled to be present at the General Members but they do not have the right to vote at such meetings. Probationary Members may not be elected as Honorary Members, nor may they be counted in a quorum at a general meeting, or demand a pol, or be entitled to require a meeting to be held. Probationary Members are not eligible to be elected as Members of the Council

Affiliated Membership

Fully paid up affiliated members receive GTA mailings, the newsletter, the membership list and may also use the services of our commercial partners. They are entitled to be present at general meetings of members of the Association but they do not have the right to speak or vote at such meetings, nor may they be counted in a quorum at a general meeting, or demand a poll, or be entitled to require a meeting to be held. Affiliated members are not eligible to be elected as members of the GTA Council, nor to be elected as honorary members.

CRITERIA

  • The running of or intention to run,a business that is not wholly exclusive to the legitimate, UK, sporting, recreational and professional gun trade but which relies, in part, on the continued success of that trade

  • Completion of the Affiliated Membership Application form and provision of sufficient additional information about the business and premises to allow the Council to make a decision based on the facts supplied

  • Agreement to abide by the GTA Code of Practice (though the signing of the Application Form).

  • The payment of subscriptions, and any other monies, within the terms laid down

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Fully paid up Affiliated members receive GTA mailings, the Newsletter, the Official Trade Handbook and may also use the services of our commercial partners. They are entitled to be present at General Meetings but they do not have the right to vote at such meetings. Affiliated Members may not be elected as Honorary Members, nor may they be counted in a quorum at a general meeting, or demand poll, or be entitled to require a meeting to be held. Affiliated Members are not eligible to be elected as Members of the Council

Overseas Membership

Fully paid up overseas associate members receive GTA Newsletters and our regular E-Mail Updates. They are entitled to be present at general meetings of the Association but they do not have the right to speak or vote at such meetings, nor may they be counted in a quorum at a general meeting of members of the Association, or demand a poll, or be entitled to require a meeting to be held. Overseas associate members are not eligible to be elected as members of the GTA Council or to be elected as Honorary Members.

How do I join?

Please select the appropriate category of membership from the list above. Full details of the application criteria and Terms and Conditions may be found here, and a link will enable you to download an application form.   All applications for membership are put before the full  GTA Council so that discussions may be held on each and every one.

Please send your completed application by email or post in plenty of time for the next Council meeting.  This  will be held on 13th July 2017
